Our Mission & Values

We understand that living with an incurable disease is isolating and exhausting.
At The Wren Project, we are committed to offering mental health support to all individuals living in distress as a result of an autoimmune disease diagnosis.

Our Mission

We offer free, ongoing listening support to people with an autoimmune disease in times of distress.

Our Vision

To build support and community for people living with autoimmune disease.

Our Values

Compassionate: We are kind and caring.
Inclusive: We welcome people with autoimmune diseases.
Collaborative: We build partnerships to grow our community.

A diagnosis of an autoimmune disease is life-changing.

For many, the route to diagnosis is long and difficult. We exist to address the inadequate and often nonexistent access to mental health support for people diagnosed with autoimmune disease.

Beyond the physical disability, symptoms such as anxiety, depression, loneliness, body dysmorphia, and grief are acute and life-altering. And in the overstretched NHS, often seen as secondary to the medical needs of an AI disease.

The Wren Project is the only charity in the UK to offer support to people with all autoimmune diseases. Our support is free, one-to-one and remote; meaning anyone in a period of acute distress can receive it.

Our Impact

We are a small but growing charity with a mission to amplify the voices of an often silenced community. We exist to address the inadequate access to emotional and mental health support following an autoimmune disease diagnosis.disease

Who We Are

We strive to bridge the gap between a life-changing autoimmune disease diagnosis, and access to mental health support. Founded by people living with autoimmune diseases, we understand the impact a diagnosis can have.
