Meet our Team

Meet the team

We share a collective care of the Wren Project. We create innovative spaces to inspire, inquire of and challenge each other. We each create an inclusive, respectful and supportive organisation.

Kate Middleton

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

I was diagnosed with Lupus at 17. I have since been diagnosed with 3 further autoimmune diseases. It has always been, and will continue to be a fight, but increasingly the battle is less lonely. I believe in the power of listening to support people. I know how feeling heard can help. The Wren Project is a place for people to feel supported, listened to and valued.

Kim Morris-Jones

HEAD OF FINANCE AND HR

I am proud to be part of the Wren Project as I strongly believe in supporting people with chronic disease. Previously, I worked and volunteered for the British Red Cross, and worked part time as a support worker. Through my experience working with vulnerable people, I see first-hand the interconnection of physical and mental health. As Chief Operating Officer, I manage all finances and team HR.

Phoebe Welsh

HEAD OF OPERATIONS

I believe in listening as a powerful way to offer support to people going through difficult times. I was introduced to the concept at the Listening Place, an organisation I’ve been part of since 2019, and where I met Kate, our CEO. As the Wren Project’s Head of Operations, I provide support to our Wrens and Volunteers, as well as ensuring the Wren Project’s operations are running smoothly.

Anna Jordan

HEAD OF FUNDRAISING

I have worked in fundraising for over 25 years within both large organisations and smaller charities. My work with the Wren Project is one of the most important challenges I have faced within my varied career. Knowing that the work I do makes a very real difference to those affected by autoimmune disease keeps me focused and driven. It is an honour and a privilege to be part of such a dynamic team as we strive to ensure no one faces autoimmune disease alone.

Nick Tedstone

HEAD OF TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

I’m passionate about finding creative ways to train and develop listening skills. I’m a Chartered Engineer with 25 years’ experience in leading and developing professional Engineers in the rail industry. I am also trained in delivering Mindfulness-based programmes for depression and have over the last 6 years volunteered in active listening to help people who feel their life is not worth living to explore their feelings and challenges. As the Wren Project’s Head of Development, I am responsible for all recruitment and training of volunteers, and the continuous training throughout a volunteer’s time with Wren.

Nicola Chantler

HEAD OF COMMUNICATIONS

I’m really proud to be part of the Wren Project, supporting people through all of the complexities that come with autoimmune disease. With over 15 years experience writing and editing for some of the UK’s leading publications and websites, I started working with small businesses, brands and start-ups in 2014, specialising in those looking to make a positive impact in the world, like The Wren Project. As Head of Communications, I’m passionate about sharing the message of support that the Wren Project offers. By making our mission more widespread, we can offer community and support to anyone on the often confusing and lonely road post diagnosis.

Stella King

OPERATIONS OFFICER

Before I joined the team as Operations Officer, I was a volunteer for The Wren Project for over a year. I have developed a deep commitment to providing a space for people experiencing difficulty to talk. As Operations Officer, I support the Operations team with the day-to-day running of the charity, as well as looking after our Wrens during their journey with us.

Sean Humfrey

VOLUNTEER MANAGER

Having been a listening volunteer at The Wren Project, I strongly believe in the restorative power of empathic, active listening. I left my property career in 2022 to complete a psychology degree. My recent job as a Reablement Support Worker provided me with hands -on experience of the very real day to day challenges many people face managing their autoimmune diseases. At The Wren Project, my role affords me the greatest privilege of collaborating with our volunteers to deliver compassionate listening support for all our Wrens.

Emma Jones

RECRUITMENT AND TRAINING OFFICER

I am very proud to work for The Wren Project. As a person who has been diagnosed with autoimmune disease, I know the difference Wren support can make to those in the midst of receiving life changing news. I have worked in the charity sector for over 15 years across a multitude of roles. My role as recruitment officer at Wren allows me to connect with current and new volunteers, share the vision of the Project, and be a part of a team that makes a daily difference.

Ariana Mirbagheri

OPERATIONS AND OUTREACH OFFICER

The Wren Project, staff pages, charity, autoimmune diseases

I began my journey with the Wren Project as a volunteer in March 2023, driven by a deep belief in compassion and a strong desire to support those in need. As Executive Assistant to the CEO, I now contribute to the charity’s overall strategy and management, ensuring that the Wren Project thrives and continues to transform lives. With a Master’s degree in clinical psychology, I bring a comprehensive understanding of mental health, wellbeing and data analytics to my role, which fuels my passion for helping others and advancing the charity’s mission. I am committed to creating a supportive environment where Wrens can regain autonomy and build positive coping strategies, aiming to make a lasting impact on both the charity and the individuals we serve.
